Conversation overheard at the library

Monkey: Hey hi penguin, what do you plan to do on valentine's day?
Penguin: Oh, I have a date.
Monkey: Wow thats great you finally can celebrate valentine's day after 22 years of existence. So how are you gonna spend time with her?
Penguin: Yeah thanks. I plan to spend time with her at a place with the best ambience at the heart of the city and its also the quietest place in the city. The place its a little pack though but its ok cos everyone will be celebrating together with me and I could ask them for tips on how to please my partner better if I wanted to.
Monkey: Ok. Interesting...... seems like you gonna have a great valentine's day.
Penguin: Yes definitely. Hope you will have a good valentine's day cos I know I'll have a good one cos my partner will stick to me and will always be there for me no matter how happy, sad or angry with her.
Monkey: Oh ok. You have a very interesting and faithful partner.
Penguin: Oh yah did I not mention to you. My prof is so nice that he's giving me a test on how well I know my partner on valentine's day. How nice of him right?
Monkey: Woah you prof also know her ah? So nice of him still interested in playing a part to help you to make your relationship work. Who is your partner? Do I know her?
Penguin: Yeah sure. U also know her. Its my International Econs textbook. I'll be celebrating Valentine's day with her at the library.
Monkey: Chey!

Haven't been blogging for awhile been busy lately. Yeah I know this starting is very cliche. Ok lah next time I'll come up with a different starting. I'll just stick to this for this time ok.

Alright by popular demand, let's start with sunday. Sunday is a great day. We have our first W369 bbq session. The day started with prayer meeting at hao han's place. We gathered together to pray together for each other's needs and our corporate need. It was a great time together as we connected in the spirit and nothing is impossible for us. Dunno if you would agree with me but I truly belief that it is true! Well, glad that we'll be spending more time together to pray this year. Yup. Then aftewards was journey to pasir ris park for BBQ. We split up into 3 cabs as we make our way there. But because of "communication breakdown" jin ming's cab ended up in pasir ris park C. So they had to take the long march to the other end of the park to link up with us. After the longggg delay, we started our first game, which is called "cat and mouse" and then a game of frisbee after that. Well, what is touching to me is that everyone of us joined in the games and have fun together. We have Mr Benjamin, only 13 years old, to the big strong and muscular "lao da"(cell group leader) Hao han to our ever beautiful mother of 1, Miss Peifang playing together in the game, chasing over the same frisbee on the ground. It has also shown how far we have grown together as a cell group. Yes of course, we have gone thru thick and thin together but we have emerged as one. Anyway, after a tiring time chasing the frisbee, we all decided to fly the kite. After one unsuccessful attempt at flying chee seng's "5kg" kite at west coast park last year, we intended to set the record straight by being able to excel in flying a real kite this time round. When I bought the kite, the friendly seller told me: "Do come back if you have any trouble assembling the kite, uncle can help you" At the back of my mind I was thinking: "assembling a kite, must be a piece of cake" Never did I realise that I was so wrong. I tried to assemble the stick kites and after awhile gave up and went to help kang hua assemble the easier kite that does not require wood. After a few false starts, we managed to get the kite flying. Then left him alone to fly the kite. Seeing him able to do it all by himself, is really a great achievement for him. However, his kite prove to be the only kite that flew on the day! Upon close inspection, I realised that the reason why is because our method of tying the kite is wrong! Which means the much dreaded trip back to the kite seller to fix it. Upon seeking for help from the malay kite seller, was surprised that the kite seller still recognised me and she was very friendly. After fixing the kite, I went back to try flying it with jia wen. The winds are strong, the kite is light and it seem like its the perfect conditions to fly a kite. But its seems like the kite flyer's(yours truly) technique that let the day down which means another kite flying mission end in failure. Which means back to the BBQ. Yes FOOD! Thanks to the enthusiatic benjamin, the ever serving terry and hao han which leads by example, the food is ready to be served. Well, perhaps food taste better when you are around with good company. The food is not fantastic but its not bad. Then came Zhi Wei, who came for the outing despite his busy schedule. Enjoyed fellowshipping with zhi wei, don't get to do it too often in SMU cos things are simply moving just so fast in school. Moving from one class to another, one project meeting to another or rushing off to meet people. Hardly we would have time to sit down together to talk. So its quite nice to see him outside school and fellowship. So after another round of frisbee while the rest cycled for one hour, we headed home. Zhi wei, being such a nice fren even volunteered to help me and shi ya to send back hao han's things back to hao han's house, as he has already left early. That cap off a great day of bonding for W369.

Alright I think this blog quite long liao too bad I don't have any pictures. I only know that peifang took a few shots of us flying kite. Will get the pics from her. Should stop here. Munkii and Penguin will be back next week for more conversations from life. See ya then.....
