love everyone!

Its been a long time since I blogged properly, while I let monkey and penguin take the centre-stage. Well, monkey and penguin, please step aside. Alright let's start with last monday. Had the unique chance to play guitar for the SMU-CHC prayer meeting. Although there was only 10 people there and I only got the chance to play because many better guitarist was not there, still it was an experience for me. Although I made many mistake, I still need to thank yihan and the rest for trusting in me and giving me feedback on how I could play better in my daily quiet time.

Very tired now.... Alot of things happen this week but mind is lazy to think. Let's fast forward to sun. Sun experienced an interesting scenerio. It was my cousin's birthday. Setting was during dinner at my grandma's house. My dear sec 2 cousin has just decided to quit her band. My poor cousin has to go for trainingg 3-4 times a week. Training resemble "torture sessions" as on top of practising their instruments, they need to march under the searing sun, do star jumps......... Wonder if they have started NS in sec sch nowadays. Haiz. Anyway, my 3 aunties plus her mum and my dear grandma started "The Great secondary school debate" arguing weather she should quit her cca and the detriments connected with quiting. Then me as an onlooker, could see the stress and confusion on my cousin's face as she is bombarded with arguments for and against her quiting her cca. Poor thing, remember a decade ago I was also caught in the same situation many times seated at the "confortable" dining table at my grandma's house. Oh man, how did I get thru this.

Fast forward to today. Well, today's the release of O level results. Again feel like parent again. Well KK and terry didn't get good results. But it triggered a thought. Why must people that are not good at studying but good at other stuff like arts or sports be penalised by the education system and cause them to lose out at least in the short run and being looked down upon by the society? Well that made me even more want to fulfill my vision to be a social entrepreneur one day and find practical solutions to these problems. Have a few flimsy ideas here. Maybe I can throw it out and perhaps if you could let me know how you think about my idea.

A forewarning is that the idea are really flimsy only thought of it while I was walking to the library.
1) Am thinking of bringing together ppl that cannot make it during their N or O levels to come together to set up a business. Like maybe an events company. From my experience in the army with ppl from ite, these can be good for a company and are people that can build a great company.
2) Or we could gather all the art talent and have an artistic company that teaches art to people that wanna learn. Or we can get them to do artworks and sell it commercially. Then with the profits we could employ professional teachers to teach them so that they will further improve their art talent. Got a few frens that are really good in art. Thats how I got the idea.

Alright will stop here for now. Too tired to continue. Getting back to complete my 15 chapters of readings....... Please do not make my abovementioned ideas your ideas. I'll get it patented soon. Hahaz.

Ah Peng being bored and restless, went up to Munkii and ask,
Ah Peng: Hey munkii, let's go out.
Munkii: ok sure. Go where?
Ah Peng: Ok let's go sentosa.
Munkii: Don't want lah So Expensive Nothing TO See Actually.
Ah Peng: Yah that's true. We can go MS to eat?
Munkii: MS, malaysia? Wow thats great. We can go there to buy cheap cooking oil to sell back in singapore.
Ah Peng: No lah MS is Marina South lah not malaysia. If we don't go MS to eat we can go Ice-skating.
Munkii: Ice-skating? Don't want lah I don't wanna be caught by the police for vandalise the floor while ice-skating.
Ah Peng: Hmmm.... how abt going ubin to cycle?
Munkii: U gotta be kidding. I heard that the government is planning to bid to host a leg of the tour de france in ubin. U think we can tahan all the upslopes meh?
Ah Peng: Then how where whould we go?
Munkii: Ask Chara loh.

Long before your time, in the urban jungles of Singapore, there lived a super-hot monkey called munkii and a super cool penguin call Ah-Peng.
One day munkii called Ah-Peng and said: "let's start a business."

Munkii: I mean none of the business that you are in.

Munkii: A business that can earn you money when an opportunity comes. So when it comes need to grab it and act on it. Just like what my prof in class said.

Weeekends will be gone in less than 50 mins. It has been an awesome week and cant believe that it has just flown past.

On sat, I tagged along with fay to meet her buddy. Her buddy is an irish exchange student. And strangely, fay brought them to crystal jade, weird choice of a place for you to bring an irish to. Then afterward fay paid for the full bill which amounts to $45. Wow generous right? I thought that is very nice of her, no matter what her reason is. Then afterward brought the buddies to a japanese stall to buy cups. According to them they were looking for places to find cups all over and they must be delighted to see a decent cup in the japanese stall. Afterward walked with fay back to SMU and on the way told me about her encounter with her buddy. Quite interesting I must say. Then its time to head to service. Service yeterday was great. Its about forgiveness. Well, especially felt that Romans 12:19 was specially powerful to me. Was also happy that benjamin asked me about how to change so that he would appear not so rude when he talk. Then also taught him how to read the bible. Which is kind of a breakthru for him. After that is fellowship at terminal 1. Then went off with keith back home. END of day......

Wanted to fulfill my commitment today of doing housework. So woke up early to sweep and mop the floor. Halfway between vacuuming got scolded from mum for damaging the wall while vacuuming. Haiz... sometimes when you do something right the devil comes n throw a spanner in the works. Stupid devil! But its ok. Had so much scolding before that I know that this won't stop me from continue doing what is right. After mopping the floor, its quiet time with God and a fast phone call to daniel and off to cell group. Wow jin ming played guitar for cell group! He did well, and I especially felt the word that he gave about us being God's "precious"(dunno if this translation is right) is for me. Amen! Then afterward rushed off in a cab with zachary to his bursury ceremony. Didn't expect to see so many ppl there when I reach. The hall was so full that parents could only stand and view from outside. Hanged out around with his mum and headed to AMK hub afterward to celebrate melvin and hui kai's b'day.

After being reminded by nicholas, I think it has been 1 year that I last joined them for their last outing. Oh man.... sorry about that. I must be a very bad friend...... Well, to say the truth initially wasn't very keen to go for the celebration. Well, have been out the whole weekend liao just wanted to relax abit. But I guess its kind of selfish on the hindsight. So I dragged myself along for the outing. But this is one decision I never regretted. Really appreciate ppl everyone for coming and taking time off their busy schedule. Nic came even though his exams is in 2 wks, yu lung rushed down after meeting his client, Mel came even though he need to go back to hostel tonight(like book in likedat), Huikai also took time off his busy holiday schedule to celebrate his b'day with us, Kang li to the surprise of me came despite being uncontactable the whole day, melvin senior took time off his precious weekend break in his work schedule to come and lastly, Yuexuan n miaoshan also sacrificed their quality time together to come. Well, if I didn't come, it would have been really selfish for me!!! Thanks God I came or else I'll definitely be crucified by them. Hahaz. Well anyway had great fun fellowshipping with frens I have not seen in a year. Oh man time flies. Didn't even realise it. Well anyway hope the next time I meet them would not be one year later. All the best pals, hope u have a great time too. All the best for ur exams and have a great term ahead.

Finally completed my first week of school. Oh it felt like its as if its 10th week of school already. It was so busy right from the start. Well felt like I'm doing more cca work than school work this week though. The good news is heard from daniel that we have an important breakthrough with project Babel(a t-shirt social entrepreneurship business) so hopefully we gonna see our plans coming into reality soon. Quite excited about it but will blog more about it later. Yup.

Finally made full use of the smu gym today. Feel so weak there seeing so many "man-hunt" contestants training. But it was cool, being able to be on target for my new year resolution which is to exercise once a week during school time. The highlight of it must be the shower. After a good workout, showering in hot water is like SHIOK LAH! Don't feel like getting out of it, feel like staying there forever. Alright nvm. Gym see you again next week.

Ok this post I try to keep it short. It won't be an essay. Hahaz. Spend the whole of friday in school meeting up for cca. Was pleased to see bernard and kin siong in school also. Although disappointed them, couldn't play bball. Sorry. Then played risk at Mr Tea with bernard, kk and terry till late. 3 on 1 not fair loh. Haiz.

Next sat was great. Got to go to sentosa with the ppl from chara. All the wo ah ah ah...... and most importantly the gossips. Hahaz. Courtesy my frisbee, the gossip-maker, there was non-stop gossip. Then left earlier to go to church. In church was great. Pastor talked about goal setting and was really challenged to set goals this year so I listed down 4 goals during svc:
1) To be a better son this year.
2) To win souls this year.
3) To grow stronger spiritually
4) To get better gpa.

Yeah although grades is secondary, but God send me into SMU as the head and not the tail. I still have to excel in my studies. I really hope that matt 6:33 can come true for me again this term.

On sunday, accompanied zhen ken to this church called church of christ. Was recieved there by a pastor and he sort of gave us personal bible study. Learned some things there and spend some quality time with zhen ken. After that went back to settle some personal stuff before school reopen.

Monday, 1st day of school, well, not really start of agony but hopefully start of an another awesome semester. 1st day in school was busy even before the school start, had to do an emailer for bluemoo. Then realised that ms fay's fren did not teach her how to use photoshop. So frantically source for help from frens on msn. Then Yining suggested to download the trial version which would take 2 hours to download on my com. Anyway brilliant idea yining.

Was thinking for what should I write for this post, then realised that perhaps I should summarise my holidays. So here we go. Have a feeling that this is gonna be a long post. But I know that you will read it till the end right. Hahaz.

The holidays started right after BP(business process) paper. The first meaningful thing did, accompany alan to buy his guitar. Alan is such an interesting guy, he's rich, generous and cool loh. Why I say that, well after seeing me play guitar for less than 5 mins while waiting for bus at a bus stop he decide to buy a guitar which is worth $120. Kind of interesting guy that generous in spending his money which makes him cool right? Hahaz. Well if U know him U'll know that my describtion of him is right. Hahaz. Well anyway I hope that he has been practising his guitar. Never seen him since his trip to taiwan. Btw when are we gonna go out again ah? Someone's been waiting for the opportunity to go out.

Well, holidays started at the time when I really needed the holidays. (duh... after 15 wks of sch who won't need) Yup so anyway, for the first few days of the holidays decided to take it easy and chilled out and relaxed abit. One of the targets I set this holidays is to help 2 of my frens to look for a job. Its not easy cos they have been looking for a job for half a year already. After doing some useful research and with God's grace, I managed to get them a job after a round of interview at BK. Praise the Lord!

Next up BREAKAWAY camp! Well I must admit that I am totally unprepared for the camp. My expectation for the camp is that its gonna be a camp that I can just sit back and have fun all the way. Never have I expect that it will be a camp that will challenge my capacity all the way. Wow so many problems I have to deal with everywhere. Lifting up the atmosphere, trying to come up with ideas in the race against time, dealing with people that want to run away, trying to get everyone involved with the team, dealing with people that is feeling emo...... It has been problems one after another. But well afterall I felt that I learned alot from the camp and its really good experience and its been nice knowing and working with everyone in team possible. I might not have been a good team leader but next time I promise to be more prepared and do better ok. 3 days 2 night. Well time flies when you are having fun.

Next up is y-camp challenge. Another camp but its a whole new experience. Thanks to chara, I have many wonderful memories from the camp. This camp is really an experience, I thought I had good experience handling with people with disabilities never did I expect that I would have problems with them. Well, I was tasked to befriend and look after yan tong thruout the camp. Come to think of it I really have trouble communicating with him. Very often I cant understand what is he talking and needed a few tries before understanding what he is trying to say. It really wrench my heart to see so many of them not being able to be physically or mentally fit look after themselves. Well I believe that God still have a purpose for them in their life that is thru them we might be able to appreciate life and learn from them. I'm sure they will be well blessed when the time comes. In the meantime, it is the duty of people around them like us to bring joy and love into their life. That in essense is the chara spirit. Right Chara? Yeah I hear the Wo ah ah ah!

Well next up a trip to Bintan. Went bintan with my aunties. Wow its been so long since I last went for holidays. I think the last time was when I was in pri sch. Wow more than 10 years. Hmmm.... the trip was quite boring actually. Which is probably due to me injuring myself on the 1st day the first trip to the beach. What was I thinking when I tried to climb the rock. Haiz nvm. Everything in bintan was ex from the food to the gifts. So in the end, sorry guys didn't buy back anything for you. Wanted to pick some nice sea shells but injured my leg and my wounds couldn't stand the sea water so it was kind of wasted. But its a good time just chilling out and enjoying the sea breeze in Bintan for 3 days. In between, also managed to get project Babel going. Its a project to t-shirts in smu. Well hopefully we can see more progress as the term goes by. Yup.

Well perhaps the only regret this holidays is the failure to spend more time with my frens. People like chee seng, sorry always not being able to spend time with you. Alan and zhiwei sorry never really teach you guitar. To all my frens that I promised to play soccer with but didn't happen. Its quite hard to organise a soccer outing. If I can I'll organise one during the mid terms break ok. And also so many others in W369 couldn't spend much time with you especially during christmas. Well the problem is due to me wanting to keep all the available free time for myself. I'm really sorry. This part I have to change. Anyway I think its been a really fruitful and enriching holidays. Thanks for all involved that made this holidays my best holidays yet.

Wow had an awesome time last night at jia wen's house with my cell group counting down to 2008. Well, although there were problems along the way but in the end problems are solved and we ended the night on the right note. Really appreciate the work of EVERYONE there to make sure that we end off 2007 well. Jiawen's house is such a beautiful place. It must be the most beautiful condo in singapore without a doubt.
