Its been a long time since I blogged properly, while I let monkey and penguin take the centre-stage. Well, monkey and penguin, please step aside. Alright let's start with last monday. Had the unique chance to play guitar for the SMU-CHC prayer meeting. Although there was only 10 people there and I only got the chance to play because many better guitarist was not there, still it was an experience for me. Although I made many mistake, I still need to thank yihan and the rest for trusting in me and giving me feedback on how I could play better in my daily quiet time.
Very tired now.... Alot of things happen this week but mind is lazy to think. Let's fast forward to sun. Sun experienced an interesting scenerio. It was my cousin's birthday. Setting was during dinner at my grandma's house. My dear sec 2 cousin has just decided to quit her band. My poor cousin has to go for trainingg 3-4 times a week. Training resemble "torture sessions" as on top of practising their instruments, they need to march under the searing sun, do star jumps......... Wonder if they have started NS in sec sch nowadays. Haiz. Anyway, my 3 aunties plus her mum and my dear grandma started "The Great secondary school debate" arguing weather she should quit her cca and the detriments connected with quiting. Then me as an onlooker, could see the stress and confusion on my cousin's face as she is bombarded with arguments for and against her quiting her cca. Poor thing, remember a decade ago I was also caught in the same situation many times seated at the "confortable" dining table at my grandma's house. Oh man, how did I get thru this.
Fast forward to today. Well, today's the release of O level results. Again feel like parent again. Well KK and terry didn't get good results. But it triggered a thought. Why must people that are not good at studying but good at other stuff like arts or sports be penalised by the education system and cause them to lose out at least in the short run and being looked down upon by the society? Well that made me even more want to fulfill my vision to be a social entrepreneur one day and find practical solutions to these problems. Have a few flimsy ideas here. Maybe I can throw it out and perhaps if you could let me know how you think about my idea.
A forewarning is that the idea are really flimsy only thought of it while I was walking to the library.
1) Am thinking of bringing together ppl that cannot make it during their N or O levels to come together to set up a business. Like maybe an events company. From my experience in the army with ppl from ite, these can be good for a company and are people that can build a great company.
2) Or we could gather all the art talent and have an artistic company that teaches art to people that wanna learn. Or we can get them to do artworks and sell it commercially. Then with the profits we could employ professional teachers to teach them so that they will further improve their art talent. Got a few frens that are really good in art. Thats how I got the idea.
Alright will stop here for now. Too tired to continue. Getting back to complete my 15 chapters of readings....... Please do not make my abovementioned ideas your ideas. I'll get it patented soon. Hahaz.
